Assistance with fees

All Psychologists are registered with Medicare to provide psychological therapy. This means that if you are referred by your GP for a diagnosable psychological problem, you are eligible for a subsidy of $136.35 for up to 10 sessions with a Clinical Psychologist and $92.90 for a Registered Psychologist. The gap that you pay at our practice will be the same regardless of the type of psychologist you see. We do have a set fee for appointments during standard business hours and a slightly higher fee for appointments outside of those hours and on Saturdays. Please contact info@centrepointpsychology.com.au for more information about fees.

If you would like to access a Medicare rebate, your GP will need to conduct an assessment to determine if you meet the criteria. Many GPs require a longer appointment time to conduct the assessment. If you are eligible you can then be referred for up to ten subsidised sessions per calendar year under the Medicare system.

Some people with Chronic Health Conditions such as Asthma, Diabetes, Cardiovascular illness, Musculoskeletal conditions, Stroke and Cancer may be eligible for rebates on psychology services for behavioural change related to their condition. The Medicare rebate provides $53.80 and can cover up to five treatment sessions per calendar year.

If you would like to claim a rebate from your private health fund, please specify the fund you belong to when booking your first appointment to ensure that the Psychologist you see is registered as a service provider with your fund. Rebates vary so please check with your health fund directly for individual rates.

We are also able to provide sessions under some Employee Assistance Schemes. Please contact your scheme for further information.
